| Why? | |
| “If you think that by hanging us, you can stamp out the labor movement—the movement from which the downtrodden millions, the millions who toil and live in want and misery—the wage slaves—expect salvation—if this is your opinion, then hang us! Here you will tread upon a spark, but there, and there, and behind you and in front of you, and everywhere, flames will blaze up. It is a subterranean fire. You cannot put it out.” – August Spies | |
| Description | |
| How can we engage with the social context to heighten tension, anarchy, and memory at this year’s May Day festivities? This will be one topic among others to discuss at a Seattle Anarchist Assembly that we’re calling for Sunday March 11th at 11 AM in Capitol Hill – the specific location is yet to be announced. The assembly is not a space to start from the drawing board; rather individuals should come with ideas and be ready to discuss them. We hope for this assembly to be a place for a strategy and a collective intelligence to further develop in this constellation of different individuals, affinities and projects that make up the anarchist space in Seattle. |
