Many citizens of Arizona are currently struggling against xenophobia from segments of the white American population, a reaction to persistent illegal immigration and unemployment. These circumstances are coupled unfairly, leading to a backlash against anyone that does not fit a certain mold of American. One specific assault is on diversity studies programs- these “unamerican” courses are portrayed as a threat. Youth in Arizona who have benefited intensely from these educational programs created this video (below) to spread the word of their struggle and garner support for their classes. They are looking for professors from across the country to sign on, so if you are a student, pass this message onto teachers and encourage them to endorse the cause.
